I’m in the progress of changing around my website. Please excuse the virtual mess.
I have officially launched my new blog! The goal of this blog is to help me improve as both a photographer and a programmer. I have an ambitious goal of making at least one post (almost) every day on one of these two subjects. My primary focus is on improving my photography skills so I’m assuming that the posts will lean heavily in that direction. However, I’m also trying to learn Java and Android development so there will be posts about that from time to time.
From a photography perspective, my hope is that committing to making a blog post almost everyday will force me to go out and shoot or dig through my previous images and work on something that was less than perfect and see what I can do with it. Even if what I end up with isn’t gallery-worthy, I still added to my photographic experience. I’m also hoping that I can get comments with constructive criticism from other photographers that might happen by.
In a similar vein, when I post about programming, I will likely be discussing some problem I’m having that I don’t know how to solve. With any luck, a fellow programmer can comment and point me in the right direction. Or if I later find the answer myself through exhaustive academic research (*cough*Google*cough*), I’ll either update the post or make a follow-up post. In other words, you aren’t going to be coming here regularly to see me reveal new, cutting-edge programming secrets to the digital world.
Well, that’s about it for tonight. I’m sure I’ll be tweaking the site over the next few days and I’ve still got to get the galleries setup. But the framework is in place and like the title says, it’s time to get the party started!
